As of March 2023, SanaClis further strengthens its’ capabilities by receiving a transport license for controlled substances. The license was granted by the Ministry of Health, on the basis of a technical and personnel inspection of the production site performed by the Slovak State Institute for Drug Control.
The license entitles SanaClis to the production, wholesale distribution, import, export, transportation and storage of medicines, and tested products, containing narcotic and psychotropic substances from groups: I, II, III.
Controlled substance clinical trials have generated promising results for many indications, but sponsors need to fully comply with the numerous requirements of using these controlled substances. Managing the accompanying logistical and regulatory requirements remains a big challenge.
